Sonic Screwdriver Commision by Carthoris Sonic Screwdriver Commision by Carthoris
A Sonic Screwdriver commission, for ~Police-Box-Traveler:iconpolice-box-traveler:.

I wasn't going to make any more, but I actually found the material for this in a cabinet we were throwing away at my work. And, he asked me first, so here it is! :)

Unfortunately, I'm not making any more; I no longer work at the machine shop I was working at (it closed down), and my current job doesn't have the equipment. Sorry!

Ahh, such a shame. Whovians everywhere weep!
Out of curiosity how much would it cost me to make one?
Or have a firm fabricate one?

Yep, I made it;
Unfortunately, I can't make any more at the moment, as I no longer work at the shop where I made it. :(
But, I'm hoping to get access to material and such sometime in the future, just not at the moment. :(

awesome stuff!! great talent there! hey just wondering if you sell these? and if so how much? i know parts are hard to find but please get back to me on that =P thanks!

Actually, I don't sell them, as I use scrap; I don't feel right charging for something we were going to throw away. :)
But, it's to the point were I might have to start charging, if I end up having to buy the stuff.

I am, however, thinking about trying wood, if that interests you. :)

aww but what about the time and effort you put into making it? haha yeah your skills would be in high demand eh? ^^ wood? how would that work? would it slide and stuff? hmm, you could make pens if you used wood! sonic screwdriver pen =P neways let me know how you go with that then! i'm quite interested depending on price ^^ thanks!!

Price would be 'Nothing'. :) Well, maybe shipping, but that would be all.
Going to try and make it slide; of course, I wouldn't want it to catch on fire... :D

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwww!!!!

that is a thing of beauty! i love how you install the "bullet' into the ring using multiple arms. that's just gorgeous! and i had no idea that you did the core in steel. that's just brilliant. i never even conidered that. i hav eto say, theis is just fan-TAS-tic!

Well, I needed something that would hold up to the sliding, and it just seemed to fit. :)

I would make them out of regular steel, but I'm worried about it rusting somewhat because of humidity.

oh yes! the one i have has an aluminum core and it flexes quite a bit. i also imagine the brass will be really solid.

lol, well, an all stainless steel model would be quite excellent. thing about the steel is that if you wanted to paint the emitter ring the steel will be easier to paint. supposedly, you can paint the aluminum with a solvent based paint but...i dunnow. i did my cainsaw prop with regular enamel and that chips like mad. XD you could probably get away with a 300 grade stainless for an all steel prop...maybe. XD
