Han Shot FIRST Stamp by Carthoris Han Shot FIRST Stamp by Carthoris
I saw the ORIGINAL Star Wars in 1977; and, yes, it's true that Lucas wanted to do more in the movie than he could at the time (not enough money, and the technology wasn't available), one thing I believed: Han shot Greedo FIRST! He had to, becuase otherwise Greedo would've tried to take him out.

So, imagine my stunned surprised, when it was CHANGED, to Greedo getting the first shot off, and Han shooting back! NO!!! NEVER!!!! Later on, the scene was re-edited, to make it look like they both shot together; but, I know the TRUTH!!

And, now you do, too. :D

Honestly, who cares? They both shot at the same time: your argument is invalid.

Well, it actually does make a bit of a difference. You see, the fact that Han shot Greedo without any warning whatsoever is what identified him in a way. Han was that kind of guy that would always strike first, and that scene was evidence of this.
When Lucas changed it, he made it seem like Han was just trying to defend himself, or acting out of instinct. Therefore he disrespected Han's character, because that small scene showed us Han's character in a nutshell and left an impact on us; but with the change the scene lost it's impact.
I've also heard a lot of people say that the fact that Greedo shot was stupid and unrealistic, since he's a bounty hunter and yet he misfired when Han was 1-2 meters away from him.

But anyways I respect your opinion I understand that not everyone sees these details as something relevant, I honestly don't mind all of the other modifications. If I sounded rude or disrespectful in any way I'm sorry, it wasn't intentional.

Does it really matter? At this point even Lucas isn't sure. From what I heard the latest version is that they shot at the same time and Han was just better at dodging.

Besides, if you know anything about shootouts, you should know that the thing that really matters is who shot last.

At least, there will (hopefully!) be no more 'Special Re-Mastered Editions'....

I'm waiting for him to re-do Raiders of the Lost Ark; you know, so that the Cairo swordsman shoots first....
